of Autistic Kids

Wendy McCallum, The Anti-stress Angel

Would you:

Like to be supported navigating life with an autistic child?

Value learning some simple steps to make day-to-day life easier?

Appreciate the reassurance of knowing that you’re making the right choices for your child?

Like to advocate for your child to get the support they need, want and deserve from their school?

Like help to balance the needs of your family with your own wellbeing?

Then maybe you would like to work with me.

Wendy McCallum

I’m Wendy, the solo Mum of two neurodivergent teenagers (one autistic and the other dyslexic with sensory processing issues). I use my background in training and development, my skills as a life coach and complementary therapist of 20-plus years and my experiences as a Mum, to mentor Mums of autistic kids.  I live this life so I really understand the challenges it can bring, can suggest practical steps to help and can give hope to those who are struggling.

My autistic son has successfully started at mainstream sixth-form college.  This from a boy who used to run out of the classroom in Year 1, was academically behind and everyone expected him to be at a specialised school by the time he finished primary!  He couldn’t have achieved this without a huge amount of understanding, support and guidance from me and encouragement from his schools. I worked closely and collaboratively with the SEN teams and teachers to enable this to happen.

I work with intentional integrity.  I never ask clients to do something that I haven’t already done (or wouldn’t do) myself.

I know…

I know how lonely and hard it can be navigating diagnosis and support for our autistic children.

I know how easy it is to put our children’s needs first leading to us feeling worn out and resentful of a world not designed for them.

I know how tricky it can be managing relationships with family, friends and professionals who just don’t get it.

I know the importance of putting in place all the elements that help me to flourish and I love supporting others to feel the same.
